Johor Bahru is Malaysia's southern city, across the causeway from Singapore. UTM's main campus is in Skudai, north-west of the city centre. EduCity is in Iskandar Puteri, further west, where Southampton, Reading and NUMed teach and share residences. Public transport is limited, so students mostly use campus buses or ride-hailing apps.
Halal food and mosques
Halal food is easy to find across Johor, and there are mosques in every district.
Before you book
Southampton and Reading list some of the same EduCity residences at different prices, so confirm the current price with the residence before you pay. NUMed's residence prices are for a 39-week contract, not per month. Some UTM programmes, such as Software Engineering at MJIIT, are taught at its Kuala Lumpur campus, so check your campus first.
