What it costs
On average, studying and living in Malaysia costs about USD 7,000–10,000 a year, including tuition, accommodation, food and transport. Living costs alone are typically USD 300–500 a month in shared accommodation.
| Programme | Tuition per year |
|---|---|
| Foundation or Certificate | USD 2,000–3,500 |
| Bachelor's degree | USD 3,000–8,000 |
| Master's degree | USD 4,000–10,000 |
International branch campuses cost more. Your child's counsellor gives you exact fees for the programmes you are considering. For the student visa, families typically show USD 6,000–8,000 in the student's or sponsor's bank account, held for the previous three to six months.

How fees are paid
- There is no consultancy fee for admission to private universities.
- For public universities, a consultation fee of USD 500 applies, because their documentation and procedures take more work. It is paid to the partner named in your agreement.
- Career Gliders takes no payments. Tuition and other fees are paid to the university, to the partner named in your agreement, or to the organisation concerned, never to an individual.
- Refunds follow the university's or the partner's own policy, which you receive when you sign your agreement.
Accommodation and arrival
Our partner in Malaysia, TJS Studysteps, meets your child at the airport and helps with temporary or permanent accommodation. They also help with a SIM card and bank account, follow up the Student Pass and visa with the university, and provide orientation and a first-week introduction to the city.
Support in Malaysia
A 24/7 emergency support line is available in Malaysia, delivered with TJS Studysteps. We have offices in Pakistan and Malaysia, counsel families online wherever they are, and stay with each student until they have settled in.
Work while studying
International students on full-time degree programmes can work up to 20 hours a week during semester breaks or holidays, subject to the university's approval. Students on language or short certificate courses cannot work.
